In January 2024, frustrated with the state of local roads, we started a new campaign, Dangerous Potholes in Buxton, which quickly became Dangerous Potholes in Derbyshire.

Many local people who felt that reports sent to the Derbyshire County Council through their web portal were being ignored and we set up this group to help them and hold out county council to account.

Over the couple of months since we started our community action campaign, we have had an open letter from the county council to the public admitting historic lack of maintenance and promising to do better.

We’ve seen loads of repairs, as far afield as Strines and Ashbourne.

And we’ve brought thousands of local people together to share pictures and highlight the worst affected and most dangerous roads.
